Let me just put it out there: Liquid lipsticks are the bomb. Everything about them screams awesome—they’re easy to apply, the colour is always super pigmented and they last forever. But what about all the pretty lipsticks that aren’t liquid and don’t last as long, like bullets and lip crayons?
Just when I thought I was doomed for a life of reapplying lipstick every hour, I found Know Cosmetics’ lipstick topcoat called “No, My Lips Are Sealed,” and I knew I had to share it with all of you.
First things first: This product is really easy to use. You simply put on your regular lipstick (I used YSL Rouge Volupte Sine Oil-In-Stick Lipstick in 45- Rouge Tuxedo), then give the topcoat a good shake and apply it evenly to your lips. The shaking part ensures that the wand is getting evenly coated with the product, which is pretty important, especially when you get halfway through the tube.
Then you wait 4-5 minutes until the topcoat dries completely, and you’re good to go. Your lipstick will not only last longer, but you can drink or eat anything without fearing it will be wiped off.
The applicator is a hard plastic wand, which threw me off at first, but after using it on a couple of different shades I realized how useful it is because you can wipe the colour off the wand before putting it away. This keeps the different shades from mixing in the tube.
Another tip: Don’t use a lip primer with the topcoat—I find that they actually counteract each other and neither ends up doing its job!
