I wish I were one of those beauty editors who just dab on concealer and dash out the door every morning. But I’m not. Instead, I reach for foundation the way some women reach for mascara–as a morning essential that just can’t be skipped. I don’t necessarily use it all over, but I like the security of wearing a good foundation to cover up any blemishes and even out my skin tone. I’ve tried pretty much every foundation under the sun in the quest for The One. Except there is no One. Instead, there are different foundations for different needs and concerns and even weather.
In the winter, I like to go with something heavier that won’t cake. Enter Estée Lauder‘s Double-Wear Stay in Place Foundation. Now this one’s been around for a while (it launched 18 years ago), but I didn’t get around to trying it until recently, at a beauty event. I jumped at the chance to get swatched for it because it seems like every person I meet who has incredible skin is wearing it. It smooths on, blends beautifully and gives a lovely diffused look. It also gives amazing coverage and is truly long-wearing. Once you lock this liquid down, it does not budge one bit. Even better, blush just glides on when you apply it after.
I might have several foundations on the go at once but this one will be front and centre all winter.
