Beachy waves for winter? I’m a fan.

Past winters, you’d usually find me rocking a slicked back ponytail or a high top bun, but as this is my first winter with my short hair, I needed a new go-to winter hair style that is both chic and easy to do.

Inspired by actress Lucy Hale, I’ve been creating beachy waves (yup! Even during the prime of the winter and without a beach in sight). My secret? Fekkai Soleil Beach Waves Spray. Inspired by the summer hair and scents of St.Barths, this product is like a vacation in a bottle and acts as my bad hair day repellent (no hat hair here!).

Now don’t get it twisted, I’m not a beach wave beginner, in fact it has always been my go-to summer hair style. But because of the hair frizz that comes with the hot weather, I never considered myself a master of this look. So I was a tad bit skeptical with re-creating this style with the wind and the necessary blow drying that the winter weather calls for. But with the help of the Fekkai beach spray, I’ve kept my tousled waves lasting throughout the day and avoiding frizzy hair.

I like creating these beach waves with second day hair to avoid bulkiness. I find that these “S” shape waves help promote extra volume while making the results look effortless.

Using the medium-high heat of my curling wand, I quickly wrap a part of hair around the wand leaving my ends loose and straight and repeat this step with all sections of my hair. Once I’ve finished, I spritz the Fekkai Soleil Beach Waves Spray all over my hair, while tousling and running my fingers through my hair. The beach waves spray not only controls frizz, it also adds the right amount of texture to my hair. I’m in love.
