My Go-To Summer Styles for Wet Hair

I love summer—but my hair doesn’t. If your hair gets frizzy from the humidity like mine, then you already know that styling your locks with heat may not always work out as planned. Whether you share my dilemma or you’d just like to save yourself some time before heading out the door, here are some straight-out-of-the shower hairstyles you can rock within minutes this summer.

WetHair03(I’m currently using the John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Shampoo and Conditioner because it gives my hair colour dimension while adding hydration.)

Before styling your locks, make sure you’re starting off with a good shampoo and conditioner that target your hair’s needs. To ensure you don’t cause any damage, be sure to begin brushing from the ends up.

The Sleek Ballerina Bun

WetHair02(I didn’t use any additional styling products but you may want to.)

To achieve this sleek, chic look, simply brush your hair back and secure it with an elastic. Begin twisting your hair until it wraps around the elastic and secure it with a hair tie. (If you want to tame fly-aways, try combing a shine serum like Fekkai Blowout Sealing Serum through your damp locks before brushing.)

 The Top Knot

WetHair05(Before wrapping your elastic band around your hair, brush out any bumps for a smooth finish.)

Unlike the ballerina bun, this style looks good when it’s a bit undone. To achieve this effortless hairstyle, tie your ponytail high on top of your head. Twist your hair around the base of your pony and play around with your knot for a more worn-in look before you secure it with a second elastic. If you have shorter hair, have a few bobby pins on hand to secure any loose pieces. If you want to add a bit of texture, try applying mousse to give your knot a bit of hold. I like Schwarzkopf Styliste Ultîme Mousse as it doesn’t leave my hair sticky.

Boho Side Braid

WetHair06(By the time you get to work or wherever your day takes you, your hair will be air-dried.)

Easily change up your middle part with this boho braided look. On one side of your head, braid the hair all the way to the end. After completing your braid, secure it with two bobby pins. To give the loose hair some body and wave, you can spritz a wave spray like Sun Bum Sea Spray through your damp locks.
