I personally have always felt quite self-conscious about going to the gym bare-faced. What can I say? I always like to look good. I go for a more natural look, and keep things light so that my skin can breathe easily. I’ve experimented with quite a few different products and have found that tinted moisturizer, mascara, and a coloured lip-gloss, do the trick.
To keep my pores from clogging, I prefer to stick to organic and mineral products. I’ve been using the pür 4-in-1 Mineral Tinted Moisturizer in Tan, and find it very light and hydrating. It absorbs well and does a decent job of covering up blemishes and pimples. Not only does it look natural, but it also feels natural. I actually end up forgetting that I’m wearing makeup when I use it.
The mascara I’ve been using is the pür Volume Vixen Mascara, and I have to say this is my favourite both in and out of the gym. I tend to be quite picky with mascaras because I find they often get clumpy and my eyelashes will stick together after a few coats, but this is not the case with the Volume Vixen. It spreads evenly, and gives my eyelashes lots of length and definition. Not to mention it has beeswax in it, which is super moisturizing. It has yet to smudge or run off my moist, sweaty, workout skin.
The Bio Beauté: Tinted Repairing Lip Balm with Peach Pulp is the final touch to my gym makeup look. It has shea and apricot butter in it, which makes them incredibly soft, and there is organic peach pulp in it that gives them a slight rosy colour. It melts onto my lips and has a pretty glossy finish, adding a hydrated, plump look. My gym makeup routine feels very light and fresh; without doing a number on my skin.
