From the Beauty Editor’s Desk: October Favourites

The theme of my October favourites is “good things come in small packages.” Here are some things that I’ve had on repeat.

Maybelline New York The Falsies Push Up Angel Mascara
Most women love a big fat mascara wand, but my spindly lashes aren’t into them. The new mascara in The Falsies collection has a wand that resembles a thin comb and evenly coats all my barely-there lashes. It also builds up nicely without clumping.

RMS Beauty Master Mixer
Yes, RMS’s Living Luminizer is a cult favourite but I swear, it does not show up on my skin (it looks good on fair skin tones). Enter Master Mixer. It does all the things that Living Luminizer does (can be used on cheekbones, etc), but the rose gold sheen shows up and highlights my skin in all the right ways.

NARS Liquid Lip Glide in Playpen
How many peachy-pink and coral lipsticks do I own? A million. Can’t stop, won’t stop. And I definitely won’t when said lipstick belongs to NARS. This velvety lipstick/lip gloss hybrid is pretty comfortable to wear and even looks good as it wears off.

Diorshow Fushion Mono Eyeshadow in 751 – Infinity
I love creamy eyeshadow pots so much. And even though Dior did the most beautiful eyeshadow palettes for its 2016 holiday collection, my eyes and hands went straight towards this little single eyeshadow pot. It’s a shimmery brown shade that’s perfect for doing a brown smoky eye that works for both day and night. It comes with a smudging applicator but I’m all about using my fingers.

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Talk is Chic
This shade is a part of a six-shade collection Sally Hansen global colour ambassador Madeline Poole created for fall inspired by vintage. Even though the collection has vibrant blues and reds, I like the quiet intensity of this earthy purple. I also love the brush because I have narrow fingernails and I’m a one-swipe kind of girl.
