I found the best brow product for beginners

My eyebrow routine has been pretty non-existent up to this point, and I feel like that’s actually worked in my favour. I mean, I made it through the nineties and noughties without over-plucking my brows (not an easy feat). Obviously, I maintain their basic shape by tweezing stray hairs every now and again, but that’s about it. Several years ago, a hairdresser suggested dyeing my brows, and to say I wasn’t into the idea is an understatement. I was like, “You want to do what to my what? WHY???” Her argument was that stronger brows would be a better match for my chocolate brown hair, but I just wasn’t hearing it.

Fast-forward several years, and I’ve come to appreciate that she may have had a point. Whenever I have my makeup done by a professional, I take mental notes about the little things they do that make me look a thousand times better, and one of those things is filling in my brows. Defined eyebrows really do frame the face nicely, even if you’re not wearing a lot of other makeup. Fortunately, there are tons of new products on the market that are making it easier than ever to get your brows on fleek (without a dye job). My current obsession? Make Me Brow Eyebrow Gel Mascara by Essence Cosmetics. It literally takes two seconds to swipe my brows into shape, and the special formula contains fibres that fill in patchy spots. This little magic wand (that comes in two colours: blondy brows and browny brows) has become my new go-to when I want to look polished with very (very) little effort. Consider me converted.
