How to Get Full Lashes Sans Falsies

FALSIES NO MORE!
At this time of year we all like to get dressed up for festive parties and add a little extra pizzazz to our makeup. False lashes can be a great way to jazz up your look, but some people find them hard to apply and don’t have the time. When I do a bold lip, I love to skip the falsies and just enhance my natural lashes. This is the perfect look for a night out, and will only take a few minutes to perfect.

Products used for this look include:

  • Lancôme Lash Curler
  • L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Superstar Red Carpet Black Mascara
  • Quo Professional Lash Separator
  • Clarins Double Fix Mascara

Step 1: This is one of the most important steps: CURL your lashes! Never skip this step! This is the easiest way to lift your lashes up starting from the root. Curling your lashes automatically makes them look twice as long. I love using the Lancôme lash curler. This is a pricier item but worth the money. Some lower-end lash curlers can be hard on your precious lashes.

Step 2: I love using L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Superstar Red Carpet mascara because it’s a primer and mascara in one tube. Primers are usually sold separately, and the good ones can retail for $30. Priming your lashes is so important—it gives you extra volume and length and conditions your lashes. Apply one coat of primer to your lashes and let it dry for 30 seconds. Then add a couple of coats of mascara, focusing attention on the root of the lash and lifting upwards to the tip.

Step 3: I then love to use the Quo Professional Lash Separator. This tool is new to Shoppers Drug Mart and is a lifesaver if you’re trying to perfect your lashes in a rush. Wiggle the metal comb through your lashes to separate the pieces that are clumped together. Wispy, full lashes are all the rage right now, and this is the perfect way to achieve this look.

Step 4: For my finishing touch I love to use Clarins Double Fix mascara. You can use this clear gel over any mascara or on its own to waterproof your lashes. During the cold months my eyes tend to water, and this is the perfect way to add a seal and avoid raccoon eyes at my holiday party.

Ditch those falsies this holiday season and show off your natural beauty by enhancing your own lashes for your next party!
