Here’s Why you Should Give Green Makeup a Try

I liiiiiiiiiive for red carpet beauty but lately, most of the looks have been a bit of a snooze. Don’t get me wrong I love a good red lip and smoky eye, but throwing some colour into the mix is way more exciting. So, obviously I cheered when I spotted Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams at the 2016 Emmys. She rocked kelly green eyeshadow, rose-flushed cheeks and a pinky nude lip. That green eyeshadow though! Her makeup artist for the event, Kindra Mann, really went for it, blending the vibrant colour all over her upper and lower lids.

I love that she really ‘went there’ with the green for a dramatic look, but there are ways to wear bold hues that are a little more colour-phobe friendly. I would totally wear bright green shadow all over my lid but I know it might seem intimidating to some. So, I’m going to show you an easy way to wear kelly green on your eyes that you can wear day or night, summer or winter, you get the idea.

Here’s the key product you need: Urban Decay Razor Sharp Liquid Eyeliner in Kush

Step 1: Apply a primer and neutral shadow over your entire lid.

Step 2: Using a black liquid liner, run it over your top lash line to define your eyes and make your lashes look fuller.

Step 3: This is where the colour comes in. Draw on your wing for your cat eye, making it as soft or dramatic as you want.

Step 4: Connect the tip of your wing to your lash line, thickening the line along your eye along your eye.

Step 5: Add a few coats of mascara to your top and bottom lashes, and you’re done!

Side note: These liners are bomb. They’re super easy to use and have serious staying power. They also come in a bajillion shades. So you can go for blue, gold, red, whatever you fancy. Now, go add a little colour to your makeup!
