How I found the right brush for my little lashes

Mascara is my best friend when it comes to making my lashes look lush and lengthy. There are so many types to choose from, it seems like Katy Perry is fluttering her full long lashes in new mascara commercials every month. I decided to find out which mascara brush would transform my barely-there lashes.

Big brush: Maybelline Volum’ Express Pumped Up! Colossal Mascara

This big brush from gave my lashes more volume and it covered all the layers while separating them. It was like I grew even more lashes by the time I swept the mascara on. The thickness of the brush in the middle made it a breeze to thicken my middle lashes while the smaller tip at the end reached corner lashes. This brush is the one I would stick in my purse for every day so I can wear it with my favourite eyeliner. I would even wear it on its own with a bit of eye shadow.

The straight brush: Essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara

This brush gave me some serious length. If you ever need to flutter your eyelashes at someone, this just might be your brush. Many of the lashes were given a lift with ease. Since the brush is very straight, it was hard to shape my lashes. This brush would be best if you want to give your eyes a wider shape because it pulls the lashes outwards towards the sides. I would wear this mascara with a cat-eye look or with any thick liner in general because the brush lengthens the lashes, complementing the thickness of the liner.

The hourglass brush: Rimmel Wonder’lash Lift Me Up Mascara

This brush was the most natural looking, it gave me a little bit of volume and a little bit of length. The curves in the brushes suited the natural lengths of my lashes in terms of where they’re the shortest and where they’re the longest. I had the easiest time reaching every single lash because of the curves. Since it gave me the least dramatic look, I would wear this when I feel like sporting a natural look, like when running errands.
