How I Make My Green Eyes Pop

We green-eyed girls can make our unusual eye colour really stand out with blue eyeliner, mascara and burgundy lipstick. Blue is close to green on the colour wheel and red/burgundy is opposite to it, which means both colours will be complementary and help make the green in our eyes pop. I got inspired when I saw Kelsea Ballerini rocking blue liner on her green eyes at the iHeartRadio Music Awards. It looked amazing.

For this look I used Art Deco Lash & Line Duo in Electric Blue. I love it because the mascara and liner go really well together. The first time I used this product was on the fly one morning when I was in a rush. I applied it like I would any liner, focusing on the outside corners of my eyes and creating a cat eye. Then I extended the liner slightly onto the lower lash line to make my eyes look bigger. (Warning: Be careful when taking the cap off, as the liner broke the second time I used it when I opened it too quickly, and I now have to use a brush to apply it.) Then I coated my top lashes with blue mascara.

To polish off the look, I used Nyx Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in Vintage, which has been my favourite lipstick all winter long, and I’m sure it will continue to be well into the summer. It goes on wet but dries matte, and you don’t need a lip liner with it because the colour is super long-wearing on its own and won’t feather. The end result of this makeup look reminded me of The Little Mermaid, especially with the red tinge in my hair. This is definitely my new go-to look that I’ll be sporting on the daily. It looks best paired with black, grey or white clothes. Let your eyes be the star!
