How not to be basic with your eyeliner

It started with Selena Gomez’s burgundy cat eye, then Lady Gaga with her ruby slippers-esque eyeshadow and then Gigi Hadid with her burgundy lids. The more celebs I see with red eye makeup, the more inspired I am  to kind of just go there with my own. Although I should warn you: my “going-there” is pretty tame in comparison. I decided to break out of my basic liner rut (peace out, black) with this reddish-pink liner look. Here’s what I did:

What You Need:

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk
This baby instantly brightens up any eye makeup you put over top of it.

NYX Vivid Brights Liquid Liner in Vivid Fire
It looks pretty red in its packaging but looks almost magenta on skin.

Revlon Volume + Length Magnified Waterproof Mascara
Pick an intense black mascara to load up on your lashes to really make them pop.

The Steps:

Step 1: Line your upper lash line with NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk, extending out to create a cat eye. The easy-to-use crayon will be your blueprint for the next step, which uses a liquid liner that can be trickier to maneuver.

Step 2: Trace NYX Vivid Brights Liquid Liner in Vivid Fire over the white liner. Completely fill in the white (you can even do a double-liner look by letting the white peek through over top of the flick).

Step 3: Swipe one to two coats of Revlon’s Volume + Length Magnified Waterproof Mascara on your lashes.
