The Toronto International Film Festival is here. The movies are great, but the swag lounges are much more fun. Here’s a round up of what I got from five TIFF gifting suites:
beautyBOUTIQUE by Shoppers Drug Mart & PHYTO Paris TIFF Suite
This buzzy gifting lounge had everything to get me red carpet ready, from the top of my head with an updo to the tips of my fingers with a manicure. The gift bag was pretty sweet too, and I’m most excited about the Phyto Paris Phytokératine Extrême shampoo.
2015 Elevate Lounge
This suite felt like more of a spa than a press event. I went from room to room, learning about skin care, Hollywood hair, got a pedicure and was treated to one of the largest candy bars I’d ever seen (a massive table of sweets, not a Guinness Book-sized chocolate bar). Since I’m a face wipe junkie, these Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes are already on my bathroom counter.
This has to be the most well-rounded gifting lounge. I was fed food from a food truck, stuffed with Krispy Kreme donuts, given fancy lingerie and got a makeup touchup. This was one really loaded gift bag, but my most-favourite thing inside was the engraved refillable bottle of Thierry Mugler Angel Eau de Parfum. This swag made me feel so spoiled!
Viviscal TIFF Beauty Suite
This was more of a hair appointment than a lounge – but with one on one time with celeb stylist Darrell Redleaf that was more than fine with me. He thinks I should chop my hair, which was a bit ironic since he was there hawking the benefits of a hair growth supplement. I did walk away with an updo and a box of Viviscal.
NKPR IT Lounge
You know when you see celebs at the TIFF press conferences? Well, after they get up from the table and exit the room, they’re led right into this gifting lounge. It’s not the biggest of the suites, but we “celebs” are busy, so I did appreciate the quick run-through of pasta, fashion, hair accessories and more. This suite had a tie for my faves: a slick Cross pen and a graphic Tom Tailor tee.
