Glowing skin is the symbol of youth, and highlighters currently have a cult following in the beauty community. Here’s how to use them to make this your year of radiant skin.
There are many products on the market, from creams to powders. Usually a cream looks more natural and is great for dry skin. Powders tend to be easier to blend and take less time.
I used a cream and then a powder to intensify this look. There is no need to use both to achieve this radiant glow, but I wanted to show how to use both products without looking like you’re rocking a disco ball on your face!
The products I used:
- Revlon Photoready Insta-Fix Highlighting Stick in Pink Light
- Essence Light Up Your Face Luminizer Palette
Step One: I applied the Revlon Insta-Fix Stick with my finger. Using your finger with cream products allows for precise application, and the warmth of your finger blends the product seamlessly into your face.
Apply the highlighter to the high points of your face. I focused on the tops of my cheekbones, the tip of my nose and the bridge of my nose.
Step Two: I then used the Essence Luminizing palette. I chose the middle shade, which contains more pink and matches the Revlon highlighting stick. This is a great palette because it is affordable and offers colours to match all skin tones.
I like to use a fan brush for this step. This allows a light application of the powder and lets you blend the product effortlessly into your face.
I placed the powder on the top of my cheekbones and my temples. I then applied the highlighter underneath my brow bones to create an illusion of higher arches. I always love to dust highlighter on my cupids bow. This creates the illusion of a fuller lip. I then applied the highlight powder on the tip and bridge of my nose to create the illusion of a slimmer nose. I then used highlighter in the corners of my eyes. This really opens up the eyes and makes them look bigger and brighter.
Follow these easy highlighting steps and make 2017 the year of glowing skin!
