The New Additions to My Summer Makeup Routine

A true makeup enthusiast will always have their ride-or-die products, but will never turn down the chance to try different products and discover new techniques to enhance our favourite beauty looks. What’s my favourite look? Well this summer I’m all about achieving a healthy glow. I’ve been trying to perfect this look for years and I thought I had all the right products…until I started experimenting with new ones. To quote Beyoncé, “I ain’t sorry!” Seriously, I’m saying bye to my old go-tos because these products are changing my summer makeup routine and I’m loving it.

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Oil
I instantly fell in love with this one-of-a-kind primer as it acts as both my moisturizer and primer. Even before applying a drop of makeup on my face, I was amazed with how quickly my skin absorbed the oil and how it gave me a nice radiant glow. This luminosity quietly peeks through my foundation, so using a highlighter is no longer necessary. How great is that?! A little goes a long way when using this oil. I like to use one to two drops, dabbing it all over my face but concentrating on my cheeks. It’s particularly great for anyone who has dry skin.

Rodial Airbrush Concealer
Would you believe me if I told you that I don’t wear concealer on a regular basis? But since watching Kylie Jenner’s makeup tutorial on Snapchat I’ve added a cream concealer to my makeup routine. However, just like Kylie, I’m not using a cream concealer to cover up imperfections. After filling in my brows, I’m using Rodial Airbrush Concealer to highlight my brow bones. To be honest, I’ve never highlighted my brows before and I never thought it could make a difference, but it seriously does. It really cleans up the look of my brows and gives them more definition. Besides my brows, I’ve also been using this concealer to highlight my nose and my cheekbones.

Pür Minerals Cream Blush
I switched from a powder to cream blush and I’m not looking back. Using a cream blush has really boosted my glow this summer. Compared to mattifying powder blushes, the Pür Minerals Cream Blush has a natural finish that complements luminous skin. And because I have super dry skin, a cream blush is exactly what I need for a more hydrated and healthy canvas. Also, blending is such a breeze now! With my fingertips, I apply the blush onto the apples of my cheeks in a circular motion. A little colour does lift off, but this formula is buildable (without being too much). I’ve been loving the colour Coy, a peachy pink.
