I’ve trained my hand to adjust to the brush of Maybelline’s Line Stilletto Ultimate Precision Eyeliner to make the most precise lines. In other words, my eyeliner is always on fleek.
The only downside of this liquid liner is that it’s usually in action from 9am-1pm. My oily lids are to blame for that.
After being introduced to various different eyeliners, I thought that maybe now is the time to take a break from my trusty liquid liner and do some experimenting.
Experiment 1: Pencil Liner
Whenever I think of pencil liners, it brings me back to my rookie days with eyeliners, that involved major racoon eyes and accidental eye jabs.
So I was a bit reluctant to experiment with pencil liners. But after testing the Maybelline Lasting Drama Waterproof Gel Pencil, it actually lasted longer than Line Stiletto. There’s a little smudging towards the end of the day but that wasn’t a huge shock.
Experiment 2: Gel Liner
According to my favourite beauty vloggers and friends, gel liner is the top dog of all the liners, so I was really excited to try out Benefit’s They’re Real Push Up Liner. It’s a gel liner in pen form. Couldn’t get any easier, right? I’ve read mixed reviews on this product and apparently you’ll either love it or hate it. I’m definitely in the “love” camp. The angled brush creates thin, sharp, matte lines and glides on smoothly.
Experiment 3: Liquid
After trying different liquid liners, I almost came to the conclusion that there was no match to the Line Stilletto, but that was until I tried NARS’ Eyeliner Stylo.
The fine tip of the pen ensured an easy application and defined lines. If we’re talking long wear, then this liner takes the cake. There was absolutely no smudging or fading and it lasted the entire day. The only downside is that it is a little difficult to remove.
