Trend on Trial: Glitter Eyebrows

If you asked me my thoughts about glitter a couple of months ago, my Barbie makeup kit would have come to mind. Glitter didn’t have the most sophisticated reputation in my books, but that all changed after makeup artist Pat McGrath brought us glitter lips. Like everyone else on social media, I’ve been drooling over these glittery lips! They are everything.

Of course, I wouldn’t be me if I did what everyone else did. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve worn glitter lips out to parties and GNOs, but there’s always one or two girls that I spot rocking that same lip trend. So I’ve been testing out different looks while still being on the glitter bandwagon.

So far on Glow, we’ve shown you glitter lips, eyes, nails and even hair! But what about brows? Glitter eyebrows aren’t new, but I fell really hard for them after looking through Giambattista Valli’s Ready-to-Wear F/W 16-17 collection on Instagram. Models, including Gigi Hadid, were seen on the catwalk with silver glittery arches and I couldn’t resist trying it out.

Here’s how I did it:

  • Lise Watier Eye Glitter Liner in Silver Stars
  • Smashbox Brow Tech Shaping Powder in Brunette

Step 1: Using a spoolie, I brushed my brows upward to give them a fuller look.

Step 2: After brushing my hairs into place, I then lined the bottom arch of my brows with the glitter liner applying multiple coats until I had a nice defined line.

Step 3: With the brow powder, I lightly stroked hair-like lines to fill in the gaps of my brows. I didn’t go too heavy with my actual brows because I wanted them to look untouched.

Glitter brows require very little effort while still making a bold statement. Unlike glitter lips, these brows are edgy, while still being super delicate. They’re also very futuristic if you ask me (totally right up my alley!). If you plan on glitzing up your brows for a night out or even just to take a selfie, remember that less is more. A nude lip with a soft matte finish will pair perfectly, allowing your brows to take the spotlight.
