For most people, waking up feeling a little blue is not exactly ideal, but for me, I wouldn’t have it any other way. It all started when I was introduced to Lise Watier’s Portfolio Professional Corrector. Ever since then, the blueish/lilac cream has been my new bestie, and we pretty much spend every morning together.
The Lise Watier wheel consists of a creamy colour palette used for colour correction. You might notice that its texture is a little thicker than your typical concealer, so it’s important to prep your skin before you apply it. I pair it with Clarins HydraQuench Intensive Serum and Smashbox Photo Finish Hydrating Primer to keep my skin looking hydrated and fresh throughout the day.
Once your skin is primed, go ahead and grab your next tool: a foundation brush. You’ll then want to dive right into the lilac corrector to get that highlighting effect. I find it best to blot it onto my skin rather than using a sweeping motion as I’m applying it to sensitive areas such as underneath the eyes.
Where you choose to apply the colour is completely unique to your skin type and tone. I get dark spots underneath my eyes and around my nose so I focus mostly on those areas. This corrector not only hides those unwanted dark areas but also helps to highlight your fave features. I like to add a touch to my brow line to lift my eyes as well as my cupid’s bow.
Next step: blend, blend, blend!
Once you’re happy with your look and you’ve got your glow on, finish by applying your foundation to eliminate any traces of blue. I like to top it off with a highlighting bronzer and blush to be sure the corrector doesn’t wash me out.
There are unlimited applications to the Lisa Watier Portfolio, so play around with it and remember that starting your day a little blue can lead to a day of feeling great.
