Why You Should Give Waterproof Mascara a Try

As I’ve mentioned before, mascara is kind of a big deal for me. But it’s not just any mascara that seals the deal, it’s gotta be waterproof. Considering mascara tops so many people’s lists of can’t-live-without products, I have yet to meet anyone who shares my passion for waterproof formulas. And I’m pretty passionate about them. I have countless tubes, but some of my most recent faves include: Maybelline New York The Falsies Push Up Drama Waterproof Mascara, Smashbox Full Exposure Waterproof Mascara and Annabelle Big Show Waterproof Mascara.

I get it, removing it at the end of the day can be a chore (if that’s how you feel, you need to read this to solve that problem), but for me the benefits of wearing it far outweigh the pain of taking it off.

Benefit #1: It doesn’t smudge, like ever
Having ridiculously oily skin, keeping my face shine- and smudge-free throughout the day is basically a never-ending task. The only thing I don’t have to touch-up or worry about moving? My mascara. You’ll never catch me with raccoon eyes or mascara flakes along my cheekbones because that just doesn’t happen with waterproof mascara. Seriously, the stuff doesn’t budge and it’s one less thing I have to worry about.

Benefit #2: It keeps your lashes curled
I’m basically chained to my lash curler (at any given moment I’m never a few steps away from my trusty little gadget). In order to look bright-eyed and bushy-tailed I need that little baby to give my eyes a lift. But using a lash curler is basically pointless with most regular mascaras as they don’t dry until the curl has disappeared from your lashes. When you curl your fringe and throw on a layer of waterproof mascara your curl stays intact all day long.

Benefit #3: It works around the clock
Having a fairly hectic schedule (some of the time at least), I can end up working a 10-12 hour day if I have to attend an event after work. So I need something I can pop on in the morning and not have to think about until I go to wash my face at night. Waterproof mascara always gets the job done—no muss, no fuss. And I’ve been a rabid fan of cleansing oils for years now (which removes waterproof makeup with a few wipes) so taking it all off when the time is right has never been an issue for me.

What do you guys say, are you waterproof fans or more of a regular mascara wearer?
