My Skincare Routine That Gets Rid of Acne for Good

Whether it’s medical, hormonal or it just feels like showing up on girls’ night out, we all know that dealing with acne is never a good time. It can take days, months, or even years (!) before some blemishes finally hit the road. The best thing you can do is come up with an awesome acne treatment and prevention routine, then wait patiently for your skin to clear. Here’s my go-to routine to kick breakouts to the curb for good.

I love to start with Vichy Normaderm Tri-Activ Mask as it’s a cleanser, exfoliator and mask all in one. The clay consistency feels great on my skin and the treatment unclogs pores, clarifies and eliminates oils. Apply a thin layer all over your face then let it sit for five minutes before rinsing.

Next, I always tone with Neostrata Acne Clear Clarifying Solution. I apply this product on a cotton pad and gently wipe my face to pick up any excess dirt and bacteria that may have been missed with the cleanser.

A major player in my routine is the Blemish Spot Gel by Neostrata. This gel targets and treats specific trouble areas. Apply a small amount during the day or before bed and let it absorb overnight.

Choosing the right moisturizer is key as a lot of acne treatments can leave your skin feeling dry and irritated. The Vichy Normaderm Anti-Aging Moisturizer is great for restoring your complexion and reducing the size of pores. For oily skin I recommend trying the Truly Matte Hydra Matte Lotion by Clarins. It’s amazing for calming any irritations and eliminating oils for a matte complexion that lasts throughout the day.

If you’re looking for a nighttime treatment I recommend Clarins Lotus Face Treatment. It contains natural astringents that improve skin’s texture and hazelnut oil to calm skin. A few drops applied all over your face and neck feels like an instant trip to the spa and makes for a pretty relaxing snooze.

Of course everyone has a different skin chemistry and what works for me may not be the best combination for you. I definitely recommend giving this routine a try but most importantly find what works best for you and kiss those blemishes goodbye!
