You’ve heard it all before—the sun breaks down the collagen in your skin and causes cancer, and it can affect you even on cloudy days. But this doesn’t mean we have to spend our days hiding indoors. This summer I’ve come up with the perfect beauty regimen that’s loaded with SPF to keep my skin looking healthy, flawless and, most importantly, sun safe.
My skincare routine begins with Clinique Superdefense SPF 20 Daily Defense Moisturizer. I gently massage this moisturizer into my face, neck and ears to ensure I’m fully covered. It’s super hydrating and leaves me feeling refreshed throughout the day.
When I’m planning to spend longer periods of time in the sun, I use Daily Anti-Ageing Sunscreen SPF 50 by RoC. This sunblock is very light, absorbs quickly and smells so fresh. The best part is that it not only works to protect my skin from future sun damage but also helps fight fine lines and wrinkles.
Once my skin has absorbed the moisturizer and sunscreen, it’s time for Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish 24 HR Liquid Foundation SPF 15. This line offers a variety of different shades that blend well with any skin tone. It offers enough coverage for my imperfections while allowing my freckles to show through (no hiding freckles here!).
For a flawless finish, I use Clarins Everlasting Compact Foundation SPF 15 and Bronzing Duo Mineral Compact. With a large brush, I apply the powder in a sweeping motion all over my face and neck. Its long-lasting formula prevents shine on a hot day. Then I combine both shades of the bronzer and sweep it onto the areas where the sun hits my face first, such as my forehead, cheeks, nose and chin.
Lastly, I finish off with the RoC Soleil Protextion Sun Lip Stick with SPF 20. The skin on our lips is thin and sensitive and can burn easily. This lip balm protects it from the sun and moisturizes. I always keep it handy so I can reapply it throughout the day.
Whether you’re spending the day at the beach, working outside or enjoying a drink on a patio, it’s important to be mindful of sun exposure and prevention. Remember that you don’t need to use all of these products for your daily routine; you can make up your own combination of SPF products that work best for you. The important thing is that you’re covered!
