In a world full of internships, Netflix binges and 10 page essays, sleep is often the last thing on my mind. Why go to sleep when there is so much more to do? Well it turns out sleep is a lot more important than I thought, and getting enough “beauty sleep” can really do wonders for your entire body. Yet somehow that doesn’t stop me from succumbing to Netflix auto-play. Sadly, drinking three cups of coffee can only do so much, so I had to be sure that my beauty regime was picking up the slack. Here are my essentials for looking well-rested—no matter how many hours of shut-eye I’ve banked.
Live Clean’s Fresh Face Nourishing Night Cream
Every night not only do I completely remove my makeup before bed, but I also pamper myself with an assortment of lotions and potions so they can get to work while I’m sleeping. The creams that I use at night need to be rich enough to quench my parched skin. This cream has a thicker consistency so I can feel it hydrating my skin, but it absorbs quickly without any greasy or sticky residue. Added bonus: Live Clean products are made with a minimum of 98% plant-based ingredients, making them good for my skin and the environment!
Lise Watier Bio Lift Eye Patches
Recently I’ve become obsessed with eye patches, especially these ones from Lise Watier. This miracle product is perfect for when my sleepy, puffy eyes really need a pick-me-up. After I wake up, I apply the patches under my eyes and leave them for 20 minutes while I brush my teeth or do my hair. When the time is up I peel them off to reveal magically (or so it seems) refreshed eyes. The patches contain aloe, witch hazel and vitamin E to moisturize and brighten my undereye area. I usually have to stock up on these as they’re super popular and sell out often.
Garnier Skin Renew Anti-Dark Circle Eye Roller
In case the eye patches aren’t enough (which happens more often than I’d like to admit), I rely on my trusty eye roller to give my eyes an extra boost. This 2-in-1 product is a must-have because it contains vitamin C and caffeine to lighten my undereye circles over time. The cherry on top? It’s tinted and helps to cover up shadows and signs of fatigue. For me, there’s no need for extra concealer. I can swipe it on, apply the rest of my makeup and go. Tip: Throw the roller into the fridge for a cooling effect.
